SYSTRA Denmark has been chosen to support the implementation of new rail traffic
information solutions which will be deployed on the platforms of Danish stations
for the benefit of passengers.

> We are delighted that Banedanmark has agreed to continue our long-term
> collaboration with them to modernise its rail network. This new framework
> agreement is an opportunity to develop new ways of transmitting information on
> the state of train traffic to passengers, on platforms and in stations.
> Peter Kristensen, Senior Project Manager, SYSTRA Denmark

### Optimised traffic information for the Danish

In Denmark, passengers have access to several traffic information services to
find out about their trains:

- Rejseplanen, for planning journeys in advance of roadworks and track
  diversions;
- The MitTog application, which covers both mainline networks and the S-Bahn
network, the automation of which SYSTRA is studying, to find out the location
  of your train and its platform number;
- Landets Puls is an animation which allows you to follow all the trains running
in the country from the same map.

Banedanmark’s aim is to make station displays and announcements more modern and
reliable via information screens on the platforms, in the halls and at the
entrances to the forecourts. The following equipment is planned:

- **New screens on mainline trains**: these EMPS_/TVM_\* digital screens will
display train movements using the same information as MitTog. SYSTRA Denmark
is to design the new monitors to be installed in stations on national lines.
- **New monitors to display the DOT\\*\\*\\* public transport offer** from
national lines and the S-Bahn regional network, and to broadcast live traffic
information via the Rejseplanen application. SYSTRA Denmark’s role is to
design the displays for the new station monitors.
- **New loudspeakers for audible announcements**: SYSTRA Denmark will advise
Banedanmark on the choice of equipment for stations on the national network,
as well as its assembly and installation.

Finally, SYSTRA is assisting Banedanmark with all aspects of specification,
procurement, and technical documentation.

### Banedanmark: a major client for SYSTRA

SYSTRA has been supporting the Danish network operator for many years in the
modernisation and maintenance of its equipment. This was the case for our
largest contract in the country, to support the electrification of the rail
network, which began in 2013 and will be completed by 2030, with almost 1,300km
of lines electrified by catenary. By 1 January 2023, 964km had already been
equipped.

Our teams were also mobilised to advise on the deployment of ERTMS signalling
and GSM-Rail radio systems. With the integration of Atkins Danmark’s teams,
SYSTRA is pursuing other major contracts such as on-site technical supervision
notably on the Roskilde – Ringsted and Ringsted – Korsør sections, track renewal
on the Svanemøllen-Hillerød railway line, and platform lighting in Jutland and
Fionie.

\* EMPS = Elektrisk Melde- og PassagerinformationsSkærme, or ‘electrical
passenger information display’.
\*\* TVM stands for TogViserMonitor, i.e. train display.\*\*\* DOT is the name
of Danish public transport, Din Offentlige Transport (‘Your public transport’ in
Danish).
