# A footbridge signed SYSTRA France in Corte, Corsica

The city of Corte, in Upper Corsica, has awarded the role of project manager for
its footbridge project to a consortium bringing together SYSTRA France and the
engineering firm Lamoureux & Ricciotti Ingénierie, in partnership with Rudy
Ricciotti Architecte (lead). The municipal authorities selected our proposal
‘for the quality of its landscape integration, its structural simplicity, and
its innovative environmental approach.’

## Engineering structures for pedestrians and soft mobility

This footbridge, intended for pedestrians and cyclists, will span the Tavignano
River in downtown Corte with a single 60-metre-long span and a usable width of
5.50 metres. It will be built in ultra-high-performance fibre-reinforced
concrete, an innovative technique offering a very high level of durability. Its
slender structure will blend discreetly into the Corsican mountain landscape.
Construction is expected to begin in March 2027, with commissioning at the end
of 2027.

This structure follows on from another footbridge designed by our teams in
Thiais, in the greater Paris region, crossing the rail bundle at Pont de Rungis
station. In the past, our teams also delivered a metallic footbridge in
Aigrefeuille, on the Niort–La Rochelle railway line.
