## GUARANTEE THE COMPLIANCE OF YOUR SYSTEMS

**Systems assurance is an essential component of any project involving systems. Its aim is to plan the range of engineering activities that will ensure that systems comply with the applicable requirements, from design to implementation.**

Our experience of transport projects around the world for over 65 years gives us
a unique insight into systems assurance for complex systems. We work with
engineers at the design stage to ensure that the overall objectives of RAMS
(Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) are achieved and maintained
throughout the lifecycle of a project.

The choice of a solid systems assurance procedure at the start of a project has
proved its effectiveness in ensuring that the system security validation process
runs smoothly, in particular by avoiding late modifications and delivery delays.

It is also an essential component of performance improvement, as it ensures that
the design meets availability and reliability targets well before the system is
deployed.

## OPTIMISING THE SECURITY AND PERFORMANCE OF YOUR SYSTEMS

In terms of safety, for example, it is essential that the lines of communication
are clear and traceable, ensuring that movement orders given by the
communication and train control systems are transmitted only to the trains
concerned.

In terms of performance, the operator and maintainer must be sure that the
system meets the availability target and that service performance is maintained.

## AN INDEPENDENT, PROGRESSIVE AND GLOBAL APPROACH

Our approach is based on international systems assurance standards. We provide
independent expertise in RAMS.

We support you from the design phase through all the stages of your project,
ensuring that the documentation, and in particular the safety files, receive
formal approval at each key stage. This progressive approach to assurance means
that problems can be identified as early as possible and corrective action
taken.

We are also certified to provide independent safety assessment in a wide range
of areas. As a result, our holistic approach to systems is not limited to RAMS,
but also covers human factors (for example, taking into account the needs of
central control station (CCS) operators during the design phase) and fire
safety.

### See our Booklet⏎ “Autonomous mobility: think beyond the vehicle”

With this technical notebook, SYSTRA invites you to think about autonomous
mobility from the point of view of transport system engineering as a whole, and
reveals the key issues involved in these projects.
