## Multimodality means using soft modes

**Soft mobility encompasses all so-called ‘active’ modes of transport, such as cycling, walking and scootering. Their sustainable nature is generating a growing craze in cities. This is the case for cycling, for example, which is growing by 10-15% a year in major conurbations.**

### Towards dedicated cycle networks

Over the last few years, SYSTRA has been involved in numerous cycling-related
projects, from the strategy for cycle corridors to the detailed design of cycle
routes and monitoring of their implementation.

Our approach takes into account the impacts on the pedestrian experience, the
road network and the urban environment in general. We also carry out research
into best practice in cycle routes and cycle parking facilities.

SYSTRA’s recent work on cycle facilities has highlighted the need for
accessibility as a key element of our approach.

### All forms of soft mobility

Our studies take into account all forms of soft mobility: scooters, gyropods,
cargo bikes, skateboards and monowheels.
