Currently, we are bidding for Semi High Speed Rail projects across India. The position of Chief Structural Design Expert (Elevated) is the key position in these BIDs. ## Missions/Main Duties - **Design Leadership and Technical Authority:** 🏗️ Serve as the final **Technical Authority** for all elevated structural designs (viaducts, flyovers, stations), providing strategic direction, validating design concepts, and ensuring the application of best practices in dynamic analysis and load assessment. - **Code Compliance and Design Standards:** Mandate and strictly enforce adherence to relevant national and international codes (e.g., IRS, Eurocodes, AASHTO, specific rail design manuals) for all structural components, paying special attention to **seismic design**, **fatigue life**, and dynamic effects from semi-high-speed train operations. - **Viaduct and Rail-Structure Interaction (RSI):** Oversee the complex design analysis for the elevated structure to minimize **vibration, deflection, and acceleration** under high-speed train loads. This includes critical design input to ensure smooth interaction between the track system and the viaduct structure (RSI). - **Interface Management and Coordination:** Manage all technical interfaces between the structural design and other disciplines, specifically the **Trackwork**, **Overhead Equipment (OHE)**, **Signaling masts**, and the **Architectural/MEP** elements within the elevated stations to ensure seamless integration and load distribution. - **Quality Assurance and Design Review:** Implement a rigorous **Quality Assurance (QA/QC)** process for all structural deliverables, leading independent design checks, peer reviews, and the formal approval of all design calculations, drawings (GA/Detailing), and technical specifications before construction commences. - **Value Engineering and Constructability:** Champion **Value Engineering (VE)** initiatives to optimize material consumption and construction efficiency (e.g., maximizing the use of pre-cast segments/girders) without compromising safety or service life, while ensuring designs are practically **constructible** within the tight urban constraints. ## Profile/Skills - **Qualification:** Graduate in Civil Engineering and Post Gradute in Structural Engineering with working knowledge of reading, writing and speaking in English -   - **Minimum Experience:** 25 years post minimum qualification in detailed structural designs in Infrastructure sub sector related to Transport & Logistics (Roads and bridges; Ports; Shipyards; Airport; Urban Public Transport; Railway terminal & stations; Railway track incl. electrical & signalling system, tunnels, viaducts, bridges) **[additional marks for more experience in any Rail based Passenger Transit System\\*]** -   - **Relevant Experience:** 15 years’ experience for Detailed structural design of Elevated stations and Viaduct for the Rail Based Passenger Transit System as Structural Designer or equivalent position ** [additional marks for more experience; experience in position one level below allowed with less weightage]** - _ _ - **Eligible Assignment\\*\\*(see below):** Must have experience of 1 Eligible Assignment as Detailed design consultancy services or Proof consultancy services comprising of structural designs of Elevated Viaduct, Elevated stations having concourse and platform level for any Railway Project (Operational Speed 160 kmph or more) as Structural Designer or equivalent position for a full-time continuous deployment period not less than 2 years **[additional marks for more Eligible Assignments; less weightage for position one level below]** -   - _\*Rail-based Passenger Transit System s_hall mean - High Speed Transit System / Regional Rail Transit System (with operational speed of 160kmh and above) **OR** - Urban/Suburban/Intercity/Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) [excluding LRT with design PHPDT less than 20000/Tram/Monorail Systems] - _ _ - _\*\*_Shall mean experience of working as a personnel of General Consultant / Project Management Consultant / Employer’s Personnel in a work / project in a Rail based Passenger Transit System with operational speed of 160 kmph or more comprising: - Construction of Civil structures (at-grade/elevated/underground) **AND** - Installation of Systems (Track, Rolling Stock, Traction & Power Supply, Signalling) - Including Detailed Design or Proof checking of designs; Bid Process Management; Project and Interface Management; Construction Supervision and System Installations and Testing & Commissioning We commit to put people who join us at the heart of improving transportation and urban infrastructure efficiency.
