**Christoffer**
Project Manager,SWEDEN

### What is your job?

As a Project and Group Manager based in Helsingborg and Malmö, Sweden, I am
working in different phases of several project mostly with the local Transport
Administration (Trafikverket). I work as site manager and construction site
controller for bus stations. In addition to that, I am team leader managing the
team and projects including for instance tender work.

### What do you do at SYSTRA?

I joined SYSTRA in October 2021. When I joined, I started to set up an
organisation to help the transport administration to manage a project. Since
joining the company, I am pleased that I have had the opportunity to be involved
in various projects and that I have been trusted enough to be appointed as a
group leader.

The main challenge of these missions is to coordinate the various technical
areas to work in the same direction, and to represent the client in a way that
ensures the client´s expectations are met in a satisfactory way.

### What are the 3 important qualities or skills in your job?

First of all, you need to understand the different phases and interactions of
the project. Having spent 8 years in maintenance and 4 years in renovation and
new construction projects as a contractor, I know that this has had a huge
impact on the success of a project.

I also think that open-mindedness is one of the most important keys, not only at
work, but in life in general! You don’t always have the answers to your
questions and it’s great to be able to approach projects from different angles
and with different strategies.

Finally, versatility and adaptability are essential. As a project manager, you
do not always work on one project at a time. You must therefore be able to wear
different hats on different projects at the same time.

### Why SYSTRA?

I like the possibility to be able to participate in the development of the
company. I also like the fact that Systra is an international organisation
giving the chance to work in another country if I would feel like it.

I appreciate the variation of the assignments and to participate in steering the
project from start to the finalised product.

I am happy to be where I am today. After previous years of working I have
reached my present position. I started as contractor, then worked as supervisor
and as site manager. Thereafter I took the step to the consulting industry. And
I like that!
