SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Context<\/h2>\n<p><p style=\"margin: 0px\">The intern will assist the engineers in the realisation of the electrical group&#8217;s projects. These projects involve the design and integration of power systems, data acquisition, control, etc. This internship is offered for fall 2026.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Missions\/Main Duties<\/h2>\n<p><p style=\"margin: 0px\">Reporting to the Electrical Designer, the Electrical Intern will be a part of the electrical engineering team and will accomplish the following tasks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create electrical schematics for rail vehicles using CAD tools.<\/li>\n<li>Analysis and design of electrical circuits.<\/li>\n<li>List the wiring elements, validate how they are calibrated, their routing, and estimate their length.<\/li>\n<li>List the materials.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate and select electrical or electronic components.<\/li>\n<li>Develop installation and test procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct on-site and workshop follow-ups, mainly in Canada, providing technical support regarding the manufacturing and installation of electrical components or systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Profile\/Skills<\/h2>\n<p><p style=\"margin: 0px\"><strong>Education:<\/strong> Studies in Electrical Engineering.<br \/><strong>Technical competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good knowledge of electrical drawing software: See Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, ePLAN.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of electrical components (motors, circuit breakers, relays, frequency variators, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate in English and French (written and verbal).<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).<\/li>\n<li>Experience in the rail industry or the transport industry is an asset.<\/li>\n<li>Clear verbal and written communication skills, both in French and in English*<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">*Reasons for requiring bilingualism: You will have the opportunity to work with a varied clientele, including both French- and English-speaking companies.
