With a total budget equivalent to three times Storeb\u00e6ltsbroen, the expansion of Oslo Central Station is Norway’s largest transport project to date. For Bane NOR, SYSTRA Denmark is handling the railway technical part of the project at the station as well a part into the adjacent new railway tunnel, which will be the longest in the Nordic region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Oslo S, Bane NOR is expanding with new tracks and a connection to the Follobanen towards Ski. Between Oslo S and Ekeberg\u00e5sen, seven railway tracks are being constructed in a new 600 meter long tunnel beneath Oslo’s historic medieval park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connecting the Follobanen to Oslo S is a major and complex task, as the station must remain operational while the project is underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Follobanen will consist of 22 km of new double tracks from Ski to Oslo S, including 20 km of railway tunnel, which will ensure a travel time of just 11 minutes between Ski and Oslo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oslo S station is being rebuilt and SYSTRA is designing the extension, which includes 30 new points, approximately 80 new signals, ATC and 80 new track sections. Additionally, we are conduction a RAMS process, which includes risk assessment and safety evaluation. Furthermore, SYSTRA provides ongoing technical approval and control as well as active participation in the commissioning phases of the project. SYSTRA’s high quality work is used as a benchmark for Bane NOR’s assessment of other consultancy firms in Norway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SYSTRA Denmark is tackling the task with an international project team, which, in addition to experts from Denmark consists of specialists from Stockholm, Oslo and Bangalore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
