SYSTRA has developed a design proposal for a new bicycle and pedestrian bridge over the railway station in Albertslund, aimed at improving connectivity within the city. Albertslund is currently undergoing several major development and transformation projects, where sustainability and safety play a crucial role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Safe and sustainable mobility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The discussion about the possibility of a new pathway connection over or under the railway began in 2018. Ten proposals were evaluated, and it was determined that a combined bicycle and pedestrian bridge over the railway at the train station was the best solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The project is based on the mobility plan that SYSTRA developed in 2021. In this plan, we pointed out that the lack of facilities to cross the tracks would likely lead local residents to choose cars over trains or bicycles for their journeys, which would have negative consequences for both traffic flow and CO2 emissions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
