The first trains are expected to enter service in 2032, and around 2040 the aim is for the entire network to operate fully automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Future S-train\u201d is a long-term transformation program aimed at renewing the entire S-train network in the Greater Copenhagen area with new electric trainsets and a gradual transition to fully automated operation. The project includes the procurement of at least 226 modern trains, a new system architecture, and the implementation of advanced automation. From a semi-automated GoA2 setup with a driver, the network will shift to a driverless GoA4 level\u2014the highest level of automation\u2014enabling closer train intervals, improved regularity, and more robust operations. For passengers, this will mean a significant enhancement in safety, punctuality, and comfort, as well as more frequent departures across the entire S-train network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-systra-s-role\">systra&#8217;s role<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>SYSTRA has entered into a Joint Venture with COWI and Parsons under the framework agreement for project management and consultancy services. At SYSTRA, we contribute, among other things, with<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>System integration and requirements management that ensure seamless interaction between new trains, signaling, and operations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Safety certification and operational design that put passenger safety first.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Capacity and timetable optimization that support more frequent services and stable operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-more-flexibility-and-comfort\">more flexibility and comfort<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>With full automation comes greater operational flexibility, faster recovery after disruptions, and the possibility of shorter intervals between trains. New trainsets provide improved comfort and accessibility, while the higher level of automation strengthens both safety and reliability in everyday operations.
