A political agreement on the project was reached in spring 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-a-new-motorway-and-bridge-connections-west-of-aalborg\">A new motorway and bridge connections west of Aalborg<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The project includes an approximately 20 km long four-lane motorway connecting the E45 North Jutland Motorway in the south with the E39 Hirtshals Motorway in the north. The motorway will run west of Aalborg, cross the island of Egholm, and pass under the southern channel of the Limfjord (S\u00f8nderdyb) in a tunnel about 2 km long. Low bridge crossings will be constructed over the northern channel of the Limfjord (N\u00f8rredyb).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Along the stretch north of the Limfjord (between N\u00f8rredyb and Helledivej\/S\u00f8vej), a total of 18 road bridges and wildlife crossings will be constructed, which SYSTRA will design. The project will be carried out in open countryside and also includes interchanges, access ramps, reconstruction of local roads and paths, as well as the installation of noise barriers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-major-bridge-projects-and-wildlife-crossings\">Major bridge projects and wildlife crossings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The project includes both major and minor road bridges as well as a number of wildlife crossings that ensure free passage for animals and preservation of the area\u2019s biodiversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>SYSTRA\u2019s deliverables for the section north of the Limfjord include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>6 new major road bridges (length approx. 15\u2013150 m)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>9 minor road bridges, primarily wildlife crossings (type B1 and B2)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 medium-sized road bridges (wildlife crossings type A2, wet and dry)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 new footbridge over the existing motorway<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>SYSTRA is responsible for, among other things, the project proposal and detailed design for tender documents, with an option for site supervision during the construction phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Design phase is expected to begin in the second half of 2025, and the entire project is expected to be completed around 2031.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2
