If you’re a cyclist in and around Vinge in Frederikssund Municipality, you can now safely and easily park your bike in a new, attractive setting when you visit Vinge Station. In December 2020, the first train stopped at Vinge Station, and now the station has been upgraded with high-quality bicycle parking with the latest standard of bicycle parking equipment – also for your e-bike.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SAFE AND EASY PARKING\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The space in front of the station now accommodates 171 bikes in an open, well-lit and welcoming area close to bus stops, the super cycle path and the S-train station itself. Locked and covered bicycle parking spaces mean you safely can leave your bike without fear of bike thieves, and if you have an e-bike, you can charge it in one of the special parking spaces with charging facilities. The power supply for the bike racks is connected to a solar cell, providing cyclists with energy from nature’s resources.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bicycle parking project is designed to promote cycling in Frederikssund Municipality and is part of the municipality’s “Master Plan for Vinge Station”.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has been a great pleasure to be part of the bicycle parking project, which gives a significant boost to cycling in Frederikssund Municipality and strengthens the integration between public transport and cycling. When it is easy and safe to park your bike and when the e-bike can be charged, it hopefully means that more people will choose to cycle to and from the station.\u00a0<\/p>\nRune Rasmussen, Project Manager<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

On behalf of Frederikssund Municipality, SYSTRA (formerly Atkins Denmark) has been in charge of the pool application to the Danish Transport, Construction and Housing Authority and obtained support for the project through “the fund for the promotion of bicycle parking in connection with public transport”. Subsequently, SYSTRA carried out the sketch and detailed design of the project and coordinated with the other project stakeholders.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
