The recent topping-out of Phase 1 Buildings 8 and 9 together with the full development of Building 11 marked a significant milestone of the HSITP development. SYSTRA Hong Kong conducted Master Planning Study with analyses for the segregation of pedestrian and vehicular traffic and provide specialised recommendation, to establish an efficient innovation and technology artery for the HSITP.<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boasting its unprecedented strategic location in the Lok Ma Chau Loop, HSITP is the one-of-a-kind Innovation & Technology Park developed adjacent to Shenzhen with a total site area of 87 hectares. With its unique geographical advantages and strategic positioning, the zone aims to attract world-class research institutions and enterprises, fostering in-depth collaboration in scientific research, development, and industries between Hong Kong and Shenzhen as part of the Northern Metropolis development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SYSTRA Hong Kong provided Traffic Consultancy Services for Master Planning Study supporting the efficient operation of HSITP<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

SYSTRA Hong Kong, as the Traffic Engineering Consultants, has offered expertise on the traffic and transport access strategy for the Park, including internal pedestrian circulation, public transport and shuttle buses planning, as well as car parking and transport servicing to support the development. Subsequently, the team was involved in the Technical Feasibility Study for Batch 1 development to identify the traffic requirements and provisions for various phases. To date, the team has been engaged to formulate detailed traffic engineering design for the Batch 1A, 1B & 1C Developments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the Master Planning Study, SYSTRA Hong Kong conduct a vigorous study to identify the ultimate external accesses to the main highway and connection from the Lok Ma Chau Station located to the west of the Development as well as planning the internal road network and transport facility to meet the needs of the initial development phase while reserving flexible space for future expansion. The key objectives are to achieve seamless connectivity experience between external and internal transit while minimising conflicts between vehicles and pedestrians. This Study also set out the design strategy for subsequent traffic and transport facilities to serve the future Development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Study was led by our Francis Sootoo, Vice President, Consulting Asia and supported by George Lee, Technical Director and his Team since 2017 and working closely with HSITP to developed the transport and access strategy and solutions to overcome some of the initial challenges of the development site.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
