SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">Understand better who we are by visiting www.systracanada.com.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Context<\/h2>\n<p><p style=\"margin: 0px\">Reporting to the Environmental Head and Part of a large Rail &amp; Transit Project, Systra is looking for a Soils Specialist for the team.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Missions\/Main Duties<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Review of previously completed investigations and reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Identify data gaps and commitments.<\/li>\n<li>Development of the DD&amp;I scope and schedule related to their specialty.<\/li>\n<li>Lead the subject matter team tasked to complete DD&amp;I work and reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Incorporation of requirements into design.<\/li>\n<li>Confirmation that requirements and commitments are executed.<\/li>\n<li>Develops and manages the Excess Soils Management Plan for the project, including development of APU, SAP, SCR, and ESDAR.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for coordinating owner and contractor registration of the Project Area on the RPRA.<\/li>\n<li>Oversees soil characterization, reuse strategies, and off-site disposal requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Develops the excess soils EMP. Acts as owner&rsquo;s QP during construction.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures compliance with Ontario excess soils regulations and documentation requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinates with construction planning to optimize soil reuse and logistics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Profile\/Skills<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">Approx 8 years of work-related experience on projects of similar size, scope, and complexity to the Project;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in Hydrogeology, environmental planning, environmental engineering or another related discipline;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>P. Geo or P.Eng Certification ; Qualified Person as defined by O,Reg 153\/03<\/li>\n<li>experience with and understanding of the application and interpretation of Canadian Standards Association (CAN\/CSA Z768 and CAN\/CSA Z769) investigation criteria and criteria relating to the assessment of contaminated lands;<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">experience with and understanding of the application and interpretation of Ontario Regulation 153\/04 and Ontario Regulation 406\/19, and investigation criteria relating to the assessment of contaminated lands;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">experience in designing, implementing and overseeing: groundwater management plans; Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments; groundwater characterization programs; vapour intrusion assessments; remedial action plans groundwater and\/or surface water; site inspection and monitoring programs for construction activities; and Dewatering\/Unwatering effluent treatment and discharge strategies-<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">knowledge of risk assessment procedures and requirements;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">knowledge of relevant federal and Ontario policies, procedures and legislation, including waste management and related legislation, regulations, guidelines and policies for water protection and materials management;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>ability to liaise with other specialty consultants, contractors and Governmental Authorities;<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">ability to delegate and supervise required specialist responsibilities as needed;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">experience with similar projects in the Province of Ontario;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><!---text--> <\/h2>\n<p><p style=\"margin: 0px\">SYSTRA Canada is committed to having a diverse and inclusive workforce.
