SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Context<\/h2>\n<p><p>SYSTRA Canada is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and modify mechanical solutions for refurbished passenger railcars, translating customer and regulatory requirements into compliant, reliable, and manufacturable designs while supporting manufacturing and on-site installation.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Missions\/Main Duties<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Design and modify mechanical structures, equipment, and interior fittings for rolling stock.<\/li>\n<li>Perform layout studies, 3D design, and prepare manufacturing, assembly, and installation drawings.<\/li>\n<li>Define technical requirements, select materials and components, and ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out calculations, design reviews, testing, and technical validation activities with suppliers and customers.<\/li>\n<li>Provide support during manufacturing, workshop activities, and on-site installation, and contribute to resolving technical and reliability issues.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including bills of materials, assembly manuals, and installation instructions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Profile\/Skills<\/h2>\n<p><p style=\"margin: 0px\"><strong>Education:<\/strong> Bachelor&#8217;s degree in mechanical engineering.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\"><strong>Years of experience:<\/strong> around 2 years experience in a similar role.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\"><strong>Technical competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, Inventor or Catia.<\/li>\n<li>Efficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)<\/li>\n<li>Industry experience or rail transport experience is an asset.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of FRA, APTA, AAR, SAE, ASME, CSA or Transport Canada rail vehicle standards will be considered assets.<\/li>\n<li>Clear verbal and written communication skills, both in French and in English*<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">*Reasons for requiring bilingualism: You will have the opportunity to work with a varied clientele, including both French- and English-speaking companies.
