SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">Understand better who we are by visiting www.systracanada.com.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Context<\/h2>\n<p><p style=\"margin: 0px\">Reporting to the Civil Design Lead; we are looking for a Senior Engineer for Road Design to join the team.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">We are undertaking development of designs and preparation of cost proposal for a project in the GTA Area. The multi-disciplinary team is responsible the production of deliverables in full compliance with project requirements, industry standards, quality expectations, budget constraints, and schedule commitments. The team comprises a management group, segment leads, discipline leads, intermediate engineers and junior engineers. &nbsp;Intermediate to Senior Engineer &ndash; Road Design will support the team with key responsibilities as indicated below.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Missions\/Main Duties<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 18.0pt\">Work with the Civil Design Lead and other discipline leads to accomplish various tasks associated with the project;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 18.0pt\">Coordinate, organize and control the activities of road design staff on the project;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 18.0pt\">Participation in the preliminary and detailed design of roads along, adjacent to or intersecting with the HaLRT alignment;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 18.0pt\">Work with the Alliance partners, stakeholders, other design and construction teams to ensure delivery of roadway designs and other project components;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 18.0pt\">Identify interfaces with other design\/construction disciplines and work with them on resolution of conflicts;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 18.0pt\">Undertaking designs for roadway design including design of intersections and interchanges, roadside safety analysis, design of pavement marking and signage, traffic staging design, and quantity calculations;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 18.0pt\">Oversee the preparation of design and contract documents and drawings including technical and other project specifications;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 18.0pt\">Oversee and assist with quantity take offs in support of project estimation;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 18.0pt\">Prepare reports and document project activities and data;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 18.0pt\">Provide guidance to technical staff and participate in the preparation of technical reviews, project specifications and technical reports;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 18.0pt\">Provide input to and participate in the Roads and Drainage, and Staging and Temporary Traffic Technical Working Groups;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 18.0pt\">Be progressive, imaginative and enthusiastic in the work and strive to add value where possible for the benefit of the HTA and our clients.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Profile\/Skills<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 22.95pt\">Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 22.95pt\">Must be registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 22.95pt\">Minimum 10 years&rsquo; experience with knowledge of current standards pertaining to municipal road design and traffic engineering.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 22.95pt\">Sound knowledge of highway and municipal road engineering and construction principles, methods and practices;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 22.95pt\">Experience directly related to urban roadway design projects is a strong asset;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 22.95pt\">Previous experience on transit projects and\/or alternative delivery projects would be an asset;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 22.95pt\">Ability to work within multi-disciplinary technical teams and maintain effective working relationships. Experience with construction drawings, site work, construction quality control and reporting.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 22.95pt\">Demonstrated experience with project coordination and client liaison;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 22.95pt\">Able to multi-task and meet various project deadlines;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 22.95pt\">Sound judgement; effective organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills; strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including technical report writing skills;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 22.95pt\">Working knowledge of personal computers and computerized applications related to the work.
