SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">Understand better who we are by visiting www.systracanada.com.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Context<\/h2>\n<p><p style=\"margin: 0px\">The ALTO project is a major infrastructure initiative in Canadian history, aimed at developing over 1,000 km of new passenger rail service between major urban centers, including Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Missions\/Main Duties<\/h2>\n<p><p style=\"margin: 0px\">The Utilities Manager will support with developing &amp; providing leadership to the team on the wide range of utilities work required to be undertaken to enable the main electrification and upgrade works.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">&nbsp;The works will be prioritized on the different corridors but with the potential to get involved across the entire network. The Utilities Manager will work closely with the&nbsp;Corridor Lead&nbsp;on the project to ensure the best outcomes for the coordinated team.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">&nbsp;The Utilities Manager will take ownership on work packages and scope under their control, utilising their previous experience to drive a culture of best practice for health, safety, wellbeing, and quality and ensuring they achieve a good commercial footing from the development phase works.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supports the Director in leading a multi-disciplinary team of engineering, project manager and other specialists.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Proactive approach to engaging with the various delivery teams.<\/li>\n<li>Must understand key performance indicator monitoring and engagement, directly linked to monthly measurement criteria established.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Must understand resource management, interface and constraints management.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Able to manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Must be capable of supporting the Project Controls and Reporting Teams to maintain up to date metrics on performance across the project.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Recommends and initiates change to project delivery plans, identify areas of improvement to put forward to relevant area in business and operating processes.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Interacts with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that objectives are being met.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Manages external relationships important for project delivery (e.g., statutory authorities).&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Builds and maintains networks with peer project teams and other disciplines.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Supports the development and delivery of implementation plans, establishing commercially beneficial delivery models and leading on innovation &amp; best practice.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Profile\/Skills<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in civil, electrical, mechanical, construction engineering or a related discipline (required)<\/li>\n<li>Master&rsquo;s degree in project management, engineering, or a related field (an asset)<\/li>\n<li>Member of the ordre des ing&eacute;nieurs du qu&eacute;bec (oiq) or eligibility for registration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\"><strong>Technical Competencies Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Solid understanding of construction methodology, innovative methods of delivery, technology, planning, delivery, site logistics, commercial &amp; legal \/ contract issues&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Sound knowledge of contract &amp; commercial procedures&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Sound project management expertise&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Good oral and written communication skills, clear and concise; good presentation skills&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Stays up to date with key industry\/professional trends and keeps a professional network of contacts<\/li>\n<li>Updates colleagues &amp; clients on industry trends&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Understand different types of contracts<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of BIM, understands information and data management&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in office technology, software and applications.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Well-developed decision-making skills&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>The individual will take ownership to identify, solve and overcome challenges, whilst keeping other abreast of developments&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>This individual is expected to deliver results, striving to exceeds the clients&rsquo; expectations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<table style=\"margin-left: 5.4pt;border-collapse: collapse;border: none;height: 5px\" width=\"614\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 504.0pt;border: none;padding: 0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt\" width=\"672\">&nbsp;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h2><!---text--> <\/h2>\n<p><p style=\"margin: 0px\">SYSTRA Canada is committed to having a diverse and inclusive workforce.
