The Ontario Line is a proposed rapid transit line in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Its northern terminal would be at Eglinton Avenue and Don Mills Road, at Science Centre station, where it would connect with line 5 Eglinton. <\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its southern terminal would be at the existing Exhibition GO Station on the Lakeshore West line. The Ontario Line was announced by the Government of Ontario on April 10, 2019. The Ontario government hopes to complete the project for a 15.5\u2011kilometre (9.6-mi) line by 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a subcontractor to HDR Inc., SYSTRA Canada was appointed to provide technical advisory services for the Rail Systems disciplines. The SYSTRA team is leading on the train control and rolling stock scope of the project and is playing a key role in system integration for the Ontario Line, the single largest expansion in Toronto\u2019s subway history and one of four projects announced in the Province of Ontario\u2019s 2019 Budget as part of its Subway Transit Plan for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. The line is intended to serve fast-growing areas such as Liberty Village, as well as underserviced priority neighbourhoods including Thorncliffe Park and Flemingdon Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its role as a Technical Advisor, SYSTRA Canada\u2019s mandate includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Supervisory and train control:
    • Selection of suitable technology for Ontario Line subway;<\/li><\/ul>
      • Trade off study on level of automation;<\/li><\/ul>
        • Requirement definition (Specs) and conceptual design of train control, platform screen door, SCADA and interfaces;<\/li><\/ul>\n
            \n
          • Cost estimation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Rolling stock:
            • Trade off study and recommendation of suitable vehicle;<\/li><\/ul>
              • Requirement definition (specs) and conceptual design of train control, platform screen door, SCADA and interfaces;<\/li><\/ul>\n

                • Cost estimation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                • System integration:
                  • System interface definition and requirements between all three contracts;<\/li><\/ul>\n
