The REM de l’Est project involves the creation of a 34 km automatic overhead and underground light rail system with 23 passenger stations. <\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of this line is to serve the East end of the island of Montreal from downtown. It is composed of a common line serving the boroughs of Ville-Marie and Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve which then forks into two, one branch serving Rivi\u00e8re-des-Prairies Pointe-aux-Trembles and the other Montreal-North.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The objective of this mandate is to provide engineering services to support CDPQ Infra in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Developing a preliminary design;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Defining the technical requirements of the reference project;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Preparing files for calls for tenders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
    <\/div>\n\n\n\n

    As part of its mandate, the AECOM-SYSTRA consortium provides the following services:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • Technical Coordination:<\/strong> liaison between all project disciplines; liaison with the client; interface management; requirement management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Building and Stations:<\/strong> Defining station implementation; Defining functional architecture of stations; Defining architectural signature of viaduct.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Environment: <\/strong>Completion of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA): Noise and vibration analysis; Socio-economic study; Socio-health study; Geological study; Biological study.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Operations and Maintenance:<\/strong> Designing the Operations and Maintenance Centre (OMC); Establishing the transportation system\u2019s operations and maintenance plan (operations study \/ fleet sizing); Evaluation of operations\/maintenance costs; Ensuring intermodality with the existing public transportation network by adding station peripheral equipment (bus platforms, park-and-ride lots, etc).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Infrastructure:<\/strong> Designing of the automatic light rail system; Ensuring the viaduct’s constructability; Defining and implementing engineering structures; Evaluating infrastructure costs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Roadway and Traffic: <\/strong>Establishing traffic studies along the viaduct and around the stations; Establishing the design of bus terminals and park-and-ride lots; Identifying public utilities and their impact on the project.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
