Once this phase is complete, it will be followed by construction (in geographical sections) and operation and maintenance.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-journey-times-cut-in-half\">Journey times cut in half<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Canada&#8217;s future high-speed network will stretch for almost 1,000 km along the Toronto-Quebec corridor and serve, among others, Montreal, Trois-Rivi\u00e8res and Ottawa. Trains will travel at speeds of up to 300 km\/h, halving journey times and providing faster &nbsp;connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This project will directly benefit Eastern Canada, a region with a population of 18 million, including more than 700,000 students, which accounts for 40 % of the country&#8217;s GDP and is a major tourist destination.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.systra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/hfr.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24184237\" style=\"width:759px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-largest-sustainable-mobility-project-in-canadian-history\">The largest sustainable mobility project in Canadian history<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>More than 51,000 jobs will be created during the construction phase. This project also meets Canada&#8217;s climate objectives, enabling a modal shift from planes and cars to high-speed rail, and will be carried out in full consultation with indigenous peoples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this new network, Canada will be able to count on a sustainable infrastructure to support the prosperity of its economy. Reliable, fast and frequent, the trains of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altotrain.ca\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alto <\/a>network will link the main cities and demographic areas of Eastern Canada and increase opportunities for people to come and work, study or live in this area, while travelling faster.
