{"id":6186,"date":"2023-11-22T15:26:21","date_gmt":"2023-11-22T14:26:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.systra.com\/canada\/news\/systra-wins-rail-and-metro-projects-in-the-philippines\/"},"modified":"2024-05-06T21:12:37","modified_gmt":"2024-05-06T19:12:37","slug":"systra-wins-rail-and-metro-projects-in-the-philippines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.systra.com\/canada\/news\/systra-wins-rail-and-metro-projects-in-the-philippines\/","title":{"rendered":"SYSTRA Wins Rail and Metro Projects in the Philippines"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-identifying-expansion-possibilities-for-manila-s-light-rail-system\">IdentifYing expansion possibilities for Manila&#8217;s light rail system<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>SYSTRA is to carry out a <strong>feasibility study for the extension of the capacity of LRT2<\/strong>, the capital&#8217;s second light metro line (light metro because it runs on elevated viaducts), on behalf of the Light Rail Transit Authority, and in collaboration with the technical services provider T\u00dcV Rheinland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>It will be used to support the approval of the project by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) and its validation by the agencies responsible for overseeing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The conclusions, expected within six months, will enable the strategic planning to be calibrated, and the necessary measures to protect and manage the assets to be programmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:81px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.systra.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/lrt2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16966783\" style=\"object-fit:cover;width:760px;height:570px\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">A train on the Manila light rail network<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:80px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A strategic rail project to connect all the regions of Luzon<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>On the country&#8217;s largest island, Luzon, SYSTRA will be taking part in the <strong>North Long Haul Inter-Regional Railway Project<\/strong>, alongside Pricewaterhouse Coopers (Isla Lipana &amp; Co. in the Philippines), and on behalf of the public-private partnership (PPP) Center and the Department of Transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The North Haul project is one of the Philippine government&#8217;s initiatives to boost the island&#8217;s economy. It provides for the financing, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of an inter-regional rail network of more than 800 km connecting the four regions of the island.
