SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">Understand better who we are by visiting www.systracanada.com.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Context<\/h2>\n<p><p style=\"margin: 0px\"><span>We are looking for a Data Engineering Specialist for the Go Expansion program as part of the MCS Delivery Partner Consortium.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Missions\/Main Duties<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Data Science and Strategic Support<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"margin-left: .75in\">Assist the Data Science Manager in achieving objectives.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: .75in\">Contribute to data transformation efforts, including data engineering and reporting applications to align with client goals.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: .75in\">Support the development and execution of strategic roadmaps for data management and mobilization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Collaboration and Teamwork<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"margin-left: .75in\">Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to foster a high-performing and collaborative environment.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: .75in\">Provide input to enhance team capabilities and support continuous learning initiatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Data Architecture and Management<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"margin-left: .75in\">Ensure scalable and flexible data architecture to achieve operational excellence and data reliability.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: .75in\">Participate in creating and maintaining a data dictionary and catalog.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: .75in\">Support efforts to address data debt by optimizing data structures and introducing robust management practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Analytics and Insights<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"margin-left: .75in\">Apply data modeling expertise to design and optimize data structures for efficient storage, retrieval, and analysis.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: .75in\">Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and model datasets, translating data requirements into actionable insights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reporting and Analytics Enablement<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"margin-left: .75in\">Support the development of advanced reporting strategies using data engineering tools to enhance efficiency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: Tenorite;color: #003e49\">Assist in building ecosystems for self-analytics enablement, providing training and fostering informed decision-making<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Profile\/Skills<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Educational and Professional Background<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: .5in\"><strong>Education<\/strong>: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Computer Engineering, Data Science, or related discipline; Master&rsquo;s degree preferred.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: .5in\"><strong>Certifications<\/strong>: CSM, ITIL V4, and certifications in tools like Microsoft SQL Server, Tableau, AWS, Azure, or GCP.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Technical Expertise<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: .5in\">Proficiency in:\n<ul>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 1.0in\">Power BI, Tableau, and SQL, including data modeling, visualization, and report development.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 1.0in\">ETL processes, data governance, and data integrity.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 1.0in\">Advanced Excel, Power Query, DAX, and Python for analytics.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 1.0in\">Microsoft Fabric, Power Platforms, Data Marts, Synapse Pipelines, and Azure cloud solutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Domain Knowledge<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: .5in\">Experience in transit, transportation, or infrastructure domains is advantageous but not mandatory.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Analytical and Software Skills<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: .5in\">Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a results-oriented mindset.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: .5in\">Substantial experience with project control tools and dashboarding software.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: .5in\">Expertise in Microsoft Power BI, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, with skills in Macros and coding as a plus.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Additional Tools and Knowledge<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: .5in\">Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint, SQL, Primavera P6, and Earned Value Management software is a plus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Salary Range<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in\">CAD 90,000 &#8211; CAD 130,000 annually<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><!---text--> <\/h2>\n<p><p style=\"margin: 0px\">SYSTRA Canada is committed to having a diverse and inclusive workforce.
