SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Context<\/h2>\n<p><p>The Site Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring the refurbishment work of railway passenger cars.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Missions\/Main Duties<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Validate the installations performed by contractors and confirm compliance with drawings, specifications, standards, and internal procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Inspect the quality of workmanship and document nonconformities as well as corrective actions.<\/li>\n<li>Photograph key stages, record observations, and produce complete, timely progress reports.<\/li>\n<li>Assess work progress, compare it with schedules, and flag variances with recommended actions.<\/li>\n<li>Verify and control the use of the correct revisions of drawings, specifications, and documents on the shop floor and on site.<\/li>\n<li>Perform on-site measurements of railcar systems or components.<\/li>\n<li>Generate installation procedures starting from existing documentation, with support from SYSTRA&rsquo;s engineering team.<\/li>\n<li>Perform updates to existing installation procedures&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Safeguard, properly use, and maintain company equipment; report and escalate any breakdowns or maintenance needs.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct periodic inventories of company materials, keep registers up to date, and initiate necessary replenishments.<\/li>\n<li>Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) at suppliers, compare against acceptance criteria, and issue the corresponding reports.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Profile\/Skills<\/h2>\n<p><p><strong>Education:<\/strong> DEP in a relevant technical field (e.g., construction, mechanics, electricity, civil engineering) or recognized equivalent.<br \/><strong>Years of experience:<\/strong> 2&ndash;3 years of experience in a similar role involving work supervision.<br \/><strong>Technical competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reading and interpretation of technical plans\/drawings; revision control and document traceability.<\/li>\n<li>Visual and dimensional inspection; proficiency with measuring tools (calipers, gauges) and acceptance criteria\/FAI.<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of follow-up reports with photographic evidence; use of digital site tools (DMS\/QMS, checklists, office suites).<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the transportation technical domain (an asset).<\/li>\n<li>Clear verbal and written communication skills, both in French and in English*<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>*Reasons for requiring bilingualism:<\/strong> You will have the opportunity to work with a varied clientele, including both French- and English-speaking companies.
