SYSTRA is the preferred Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) for Newcastle Light Rail

Challenge

SYSTRA has been engaged by Transport for NSW to act as Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) for the Newcastle Light Rail project. The role of an ISA is to provide objective opinion on project development whilst being entirely independent. The ISA is an integral part of safety management, providing independent review to ensure the project undertakes an appropriate safety assurance process.

Newcastle Light Rail is 2.7 kilometres of light rail track from the new transport interchange at Wickham to Pacific Park with operations anticipated for 2019. This high capacity transport system will help cut city centre congestion and provide a frequent, reliable and comfortable travel option through the city centre.

SYSTRA is a fully accredited Independent Safety Assessor in New South Wales and subsequently ISA for Parramatta Light Rail.
