SYSTRA attends the 60th UITP Congress in Geneva

This year, the Congress will take place from 26th – 30th May in Geneva, a town with a long history of public transport. In June 2012, Geneva celebrated the 150th anniversary of the commissioning of Europe's oldest tramway line and first trolleybus line. In addition to its railways, Switzerland has an incredible public transport network that is both dense and diverse. Geneva was therefore the ideal choice of location for the 60th UITP Congress which will focus on the PTx2 strategy whose goal is to double public transport's global market share by 2025.

SYSTRA, as a major player in sustainable and collective mobility, will present how to mitigate the environmental impact of tramway projects at the Expo Forum on May 28th at a conference given by Hervé Mazzoni, Director of the Integration and Security Systems Department working for SYSTRA's Technical Directorate.

SYSTRA to make a presentation on reducing environmental impact at the Light Rail World 2013, on 9-10 April in Madrid.

SYSTRA is to partner the Light Rail World 2013 Congress in Madrid on 9th and 10th April. This Congress will be attended by the major European stakeholders in urban transport systems. This year, presentations will focus on Latin American projects. It's an opportunity for SYSTRA to showcase its solutions for future transport requirements through its symbolic tramway and tram-train projects.

Hervé Mazzoni, Director of the Integration and Security Systems Department, reporting to SYSTRA's Technical Division will make a presentation on how to reduce the impact of tramway projects on the environment.

Olivier Fafa, Director of Transport Systems for SYSTRA's Technical Division will chair a panel discussion on optimizing the benefits of the state-of-the-art technology in signalling and telecommunications.

SYSTRA has signed a contract with Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) - the Kazakh Railway Authority to oversee the design and to supervise the construction of a high-speed rail line between the cities of Almaty and Astana. The contract was signed on 5th March in Kazakhstan's capital city of Astana by SYSTRA CEO Pierre Verzat, and Askar Uzakpaevitch Mamin, KTZ Chairman , marking 10-years of successful collaboration. This partnership took on a new dimension in 2011 following the signature of a contract for a feasibility study for this line.

SYSTRA, a VTM Conference Silver Partner

SYSTRA, the industry benchmark in railway engineering is to partner the 10th International “Track & Maintenance” Conference (VTM) to be held in Paris on February 18th and 19th 2013.

This year, the conference will comprise four sessions:

Track maintenance, correctly defining requirements
Prevention tools
Return on experience and new lines
Maintenance tools

At this “Track & Maintenance” conference, SYSTRA will present the maintenance programme for the future SEA (Southern Europe Atlantic) high-speed rail line at the "Feedback and new lines” session.

On the Southern Europe Atlantic line project, SYSTRA plays the lead role in the engineering consortium responsible for the line's design, working with INEO to deliver the main control system; helping the consortiums managed by railway engineering companies with track work, catenaries and energy systems; organising pre-delivery tests and managing line maintenance with CINCI Concessions.

SYSTRA signs a contract for a renovation study of Line 1 of the Cairo metro with the Egyptian National Authority for Tunnels (NAT). It consolidates our 30-year partnership with the NAT as SYSTRA designed Line 1 and also worked on Lines 2 and 3.

On Wednesday 16th January, Mahmoud Dow, Director of the Middle East Region, signed a renovation study contract for Line 1 of the Cairo metro on behalf of SYSTRA with the Egyptian National Authority of Tunnels. This is a strategic contract for SYSTRA as it consolidates our 30-year old partnership with the NAT and confirms our position as consultant to this Authority, which is responsible for all metro projects in Egypt.

The contract was signed in the presence of Pierre Verzat, Chief Executive Officer of SYSTRA Executive board, and the Egyptian Prime Minister and Transport Minister and the French Ambassador to Egypt.

Frédéric Delorme joins the SYSTRA Board

The SYSTRA Supervisory Board chaired by Pierre Mongin, appointed Frédéric Delorme to the Board at a meeting today. He replaces Gilles Cartier who wished to be relieved of his operational duties.

The Group Supervisory Board thanked Gilles Cartier warmly for his involvement in building New SYSTRA. They also paid tribute to his work as President of Inexia, after a brilliant career at SNCF, and the energy and expertise he put into making SYSTRA a world leader in public transport engineering infrastructures.

SYSTRA makes the 1st train circulate on the extension of the line 1 of the Nice tramway

SYSTRA, representative of the consortium formed with AREP city, works as program manager since July 2010 on the extension of the Nice tramway.

On December 17th, 2012, in the presence of deputy and mayor Christian Estrosi and of chairman of the “Conseil Général” of the Alpes-Maritimes Eric Ciotti, a first train of tramway made 450 meters separating the terminus of Pont-Michel of the future station Pasteur. A reception was given for the local residents.

It is about the first one of the tests and the tries ran for the starting of the extension during the 2013 spring, to serve the new university hospital center which the works will end a few months later.

For a cost of 14M € of works for 450 meters, the extension contains 200 meters of green track in innovative installation, a structure of 90 meter, a crossed communication of front-station and a pooled progress of the road and railroad signaling.

The stakes of this project:

To optimise the works programme and ensure its good progress in order to respect an ambitious putting into service.
To achieve an integration that respects the urban zones crossed.
To master the communication phase of this project, both towards the project manager and the residents.

In 2012, SYSTRA commissioned nearly 100 km of new light railway line in France, as well as in Casablanca and Algiers.
