SYSTRA has been selected, together with Parsons Brinckenhoff, by Maytas Metro Limited (MML) to carry out the engineering design and project-management of the Hyderabad metro project. The agreement was signed on 22 October 2008.

The Amazon Raid is the only sporting raid exclusive to women. In its seventh year, it is taking place on the island of Réunion. 75 teams, each comprising three women, will spend six days competing in numerous tests of physical endurance: trekking on Piton de la Fournaise (33km), mountain biking (30km), ride & run, archery, swimming, aqua-hiking, canyoning, fitness trail and orienteering.

The group, led by SYSTRA in association with its Canadian subsidiary Canarail and a local partner, is now completing the first part of its research into the feasibility of a new rail line connecting the six member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and Saudi Arabia). The study, which began on 1 September 2007, will have lasted for more than a year.

On 2 October 2008, Daniel Dutoit officially received First Prize in the National Engineering Awards, for the overall design and management of the Dubai metro project, during the 7th Engineering Congress, organised by Syntec Ingénierie and taking place at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie at la Villette in Paris.

On 23 July 2008, in Warsaw, Philippe Citroën, managing director of SYSTRA, signed a contract with the Polish rail network operator, PKP PLK, for the upgrade design of the Rawicz-Poznan line.

The jury for the National Engineering Awards, chaired by Claude Martinand, Vice-Chairman of the Conseil Général des Ponts et Chaussées, met on 25 June and awarded First Prize to Daniel Dutoit for the overall designs and management of the Dubai metro project.

Following a call for tenders, the contract for the supervision of construction of the Sofia metro has been awarded to SYSTRA, in partnership with two Bulgarian engineering firms specialising in metro projects : Infra Project and Metro Consult.

SYSTRA will be present at Transports Publics 2008, the European Mobility Exhibition, organised at Paris-Expo, Porte de Versailles, from Tuesday 10 to Thursday 12 June 2008.

In a press conference held on April 29, the Dubai Roads & Transport Authority announced the implementation of the Al Safooh Tram project, stretching 14 km along Al Safooh Road and linking Madinat Jumeirah with Dubai Marina. SYSTRA will act as RTA Consultant of the Project.

The SYSTRA group has recorded a significant increase in its activity and profits to year end 2007.

Consolidated turnover rose by more than 10% from 205.4 million euros in 2006 to 226.9 million euros in 2007.

The Group recorded a net profit of 12.7 million euros.
