SMARTMOVE EXHIBITION AND CONFERENCE |

SYSTRA took part in the Smart Move public transport exhibition and conference held in Dubai from October 12 to 14. This event welcomed guest speakers from Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and, of course, the Dubai municipality, which took this opportunity to present its future automated metro system. Its two lines will run over 70 kilometers. As prime contractor for the studies component of this project, SYSTRA submitted the first part of the call for tender package at the end of August, six months ahead of the initial schedule. Its team is currently overseeing the bid process and will also be involved during the bids opening phase. As far as the System and Rolling Stock components are concerned, the five prequalified groups of associated firms must submit their proposals before November 1st. The deadline for civil engineering and commercial packages is set for January 31, 2005. Construction should start in mid 2006.
