Phase 1 of Seoul - Busan high speed line will open to public on
April 1st. Korea selected the TGV system back in 1994, becoming
the first country in the Far East to use the French technology in
regard to high speed rail.
SYSTRA became involved in the project back in 1994, helping solve
a number of technical problems arising from design criteria specific
to high speed, in regard to the infrastructure as a whole. Since
then, SYSTRA provided services in many fields: civil engineering,
track laying, training, maintenance…
Other services were provided in the context of the "Associated
Services" contract signed with ALSTOM in February 1995, some of
which are to continue until 2006
