SYSTRA PROJECT MANAGER FOR THE FIRST SECTION OF TOULON TRAMWAY

SYSTRA has recently been selected by Communauté d'Agglomération Toulon Provence Méditerranée, the Owner, to undertake the project management of the first section of the tramway for the Toulon urban area.
The section, which is 17.7 km long with 37 stations, will connect La Seyne station, west of the urban area to La Garde station, to the east, through the centre of Toulon. It will be equipped with a tramway on double track supplied from an overhead contact line.
The services entrusted to SYSTRA will encompass the whole design and the supervision of the works relating to the construction of the transport system and associated urban reorganisation.
In order to complete its mission, SYSTRA has formed an association with DUCHIER et BONNET the Toulon architectural practice.
The contract includes a firm phase, from project design to assistance with the placing of the works contracts, and a conditional phase from constructional design to assistance with acceptance and during the period of warranty of completion. The firm phase is scheduled between April 2003 and May 2006.
Coming after Nice and Marseille, Toulon is the third major urban area in the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur region to trust SYSTRA for the construction of a major urban transportation project.
