SYSTRA has won two contracts to act as prime contractor for the construction of the 23 km long New Delhi Metro line 3. The client is Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.

The main objective is to carry out cost effective complete detailed engineering design for all civil, structural, architectural and equipment works, station air conditioning and ventilation, tunnel ventilation, station building services including water supply, drainage and sewerage works.

The study includes preliminary, pre-final and final design.

The elevated section, which is 20 km long with 19 stations, is covered by another contract. This elevated section is mainly made up with the U-shape viaduct concept, specifically developed by SYSTRA to achieve a better integration of the viaduct in the urban landscape. A specific architectural treatment of the bridges has also been performed.

For this section, SYSTRA is in charge of the detailed design (complete structural and architectural works of the viaduct and stations, system design for ballastless track and track work, traction electrification, power distribution), the preparation of construction tender documents, the preparation of final design and "good for construction" drawings.
