FRANCE - ITALY : Lyons - Turin high speed rail link project

As part of a Franco-Italian consortium of engineering firms led by SETEC, Systra will take in charge a good deal of the technical studies of the St-Jean de Maurienne - Bussoleno tunnel. This 52 km long tunnel is the main constructive work of the Lyons - Turin high speed rail link project, the commissioning of which is scheduled in 2012.

The builder and operator Lyon Turin Ferroviaire will use these studies to select the most appropriate construction scheme by November, 2002 and to start the procedure leading to official approval by both the French and Italian authorities. SYSTRA is more specifically in charge of analysing the impacts on security of the various construction schemes.
