UKRAINE: Feasibility study of a high speed network

The Ukrainian Ministry of Transports has entrusted SYSTRA with a general feasibility study of a 2000 km high speed network (300-350 km/h).
The study will include data gathering, lay-out of the lines, traffic forecast and technical aspects (infrastructure, rolling stock, systems). The final report will make recommendations for a network project.
The trustful relations established between SYSTRA and Ukrainian Railways (UZ) over the past few years have contributed to the lauching of this study. This is the first high speed study financed by capital resources in an Eastern Europe country. A more detailed study could follow.
