SYSTRA, associated with its Tunisian partner Scet Tunisie / Studi, was awarded the design study of the greater Tunis public transportation network after an international call for tenders.
This contract is financed by the World Bank. It was signed on March 21, 2002 with the Tunisian Ministry of Transport.
It includes the basic and detailed plans of a new and express railway network, the extension of Tunis light rail transit system, the design of intermodal transfer stations, the design of busways.
Within 18 months, this study should end up with calls for tender for the construction of the first projects, for each transport mode. This will provide Tunis with an efficient public transportation system.
