Project for a transportation
system on reserved track in Marseille |
|
Communauté Urbaine Marseille
Provence Métropole (MPM) has recently awarded SYSTRA a contract
of assistance to Owner for the construction of the project for a
dedicated site public transportation system in the Marseille urban
area.
The mission of assistance is intended to complete the organisation
of the overall management of the operation for the Owner in regard
to the organisational, administrative, financial and technical aspects.
SYSTRA, which will be integrated
in Mission Métro-Tramway (MMT), in charge of the operation,
will therefore help it bring to completion all the public transportation
projects currently initiated in Marseille, the engineering contracts
of which have already been awarded:
* creation of a 16.4 km network of three tramway lines, including
the modernisation and extension of line 68 and the creation of two
new lines;
* extension of line 1 of the metro (2.5 km and 4 stations between
La Timone and La Fourragère).
SYSTRA's services cap the various phases in the project: design
work from basic design to the preparation of the contractor consultation
documents, and construction work, from contract finalisation to
commissioning; they will also include performance supervision during
the warranty period.
The services are already being performed and will come to an end
when the projects are placed into operation in late 2006. Following
after Clermont-Ferrand and Nice, SYSTRA thus strengthens its position
in the field of assistance to owner for public transportation systems.
