Skills and methods
A department of 40 people with varied and complementary experience : engineers, economists, architects, town-planners, geographers, cartographers and operators to ensure :
- insertion and integration studies for a public transport system on segregated site (TCSP) ;
- socio-economic studies ;
- operational studies ;
- studies to analyse passenger demand ;
- responsibility for administrative documents : Planning Applications and public enquiries.
Specific tools adapted to the needs of various studies
Software developed by the SYSTRA group :

- EMME2 –TRANUS – TRIPS (Citilabs) : software for traffic forecasting
- RAILSIM : calculating efficient operation of traction and braking systems, dynamic simulation of schedules, tests for disruption and scaling of signals
- BusRT : calculating capacity and operation specifications of a BRT (or BHNS) using a dynamic approach.
Other software used :
- MAP INFO : geographic information system
- AUTOCAD : computer-assisted design
- COREL DRAW, VISIO : computer-assisted graphics
- SOFTIME : calculating flexible and full capacity operation, preparation of schedules with detection of any problem areas
- CAPRES : development and testing of timetables and assessment of saturation points to ascertain capacity
- FBS : calculating operational efficiency, creating and testing timetables and generating movements of rolling stock.
