Control Centre Engineer

Control Centre engineers develop new systems or upgrade existing systems, as well as operational tools for the control centre which guarantee the smooth running of trains, LRTs or MRTs in all conditions.

Philippe, operational support systems engineer - control centre

"There are three essential elements to my job : I have to constantly update my knowledge to keep in line with the rapid developments in technology, I have to analyse each new project to know how best to meet the client’s needs and I have to take into account all the systems as part of a multi-disciplinary approach.

Since I started working, I’ve worked more abroad than in France, with long postings overseas, mainly in Hong Kong and the UK, where I was first assigned to the Channel tunnel construction project, and then made responsible for engineering on the West Coast Main Line improvement project in Manchester, in a consortium of English, French and Italian companies. I then worked in London on the CTRL project (high-speed London - Channel tunnel link), where I held various positions. The working language was always English.

When I came back to headquarters, I was involved in projects in France and abroad, such as the Dubai AGT, the Santiago Chile MRT, the Mulhouse LRT and the planned new South-East Atlantic line… … To have a career with SYSTRA, you need two essential qualities : an interest in technology, and mobility".
