Civil Engineer (bridges and tunnels)

Civil engineers are involved in the different phases of infrastructure studies. They analyse the site environment and the operational factors governing a project. They identify the different types of bridge and tunnel necessary, and optimise their structure.

Eric, civil engineer

"If I’d been working anywhere else but SYSTRA, I don’t think it would have been possible for me to be involved in such big projects as the overhead MRTs in Taiwan or Dubai. The company offers such a wide range of jobs in so many places. In 1998, two years after I joined the company, I was given the opportunity of going to Korea to supervise the construction of a bridge on a high-speed line. Since then, jobs have flooded in : eg London, to draw up designs for four structures on the Channel tunnel link, and the Ivory Coast for the upgrade of the line linking Abidjan to Ouagadougou…It’s a great way to gain experience !"
