In 1983, the first urban transport system in the world to operate entirely automatically, the VAL (Véhicule Automatique Léger ) came into service in Lille. SYSTRA has been involved with this innovation since the first designs in 1974.
Since then, SYSTRA has contributed to the development of many Automated Guideway Transits across the world.
