On 20th October 2005, after calls for tender in two lots, STIF awarded SYSTRA the contract for construction of lot 1.
The work involved strategic and financial consulting for heavy goods rolling stock owned by SNCF and RATP, and covered :
- deployment of the New Transilian Automated Train (NAT) ;
- renewing existing rolling stock ;
- purchase or lease of rolling stock for lines with insufficient stock ; and
- operation and maintenance of rolling stock.
The contract was to run for a maximum of 24 months.
