The priority section of the Eastern line of the Algiers tramway will be 16.3 km long and have 30 stops. It is due to open in 2009-2010 and, together with line 1 of the metro, will be a key component of the Algiers transport network. The expected volume of passenger traffics is 150,000 passengers a day.
SYSTRA has been at the head of the project management consortium since 2006, and is in charge of approving pre-project detailed designs, providing assistance with the preparation of tenders for works and equipment, checking the compliance of construction schedules, and supervising works and equipment.
