OSTI (Independent Technical Organisation or Department) awarded SYSTRA the contract for modernisation work on the Marseilles-Aix-en-Provence line and construction of a third track between Antibes and Cagnes-sur-Mer on the Marseilles – Vintimille line, 2006-2007.
Monorail For the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai
In 2006, the construction company, Marubeni Corporation, appointed SYSTRA to carry out an independent review of the designs and safety plans of a monorail is currently being built in Dubai. The aim is to facilitate travel between the various resorts on the artificial island of Palm Jumeirah and also to provide links with the mainland.
Perpignan – Figueras High-Speed Line (Spain)
This new line is one of the priority projects for the transeuropean rail network and will be equipped with the ERTMS system. By 2012, it will cut journey times between Barcelona and Perpignan to 50 minutes and Barcelona-Paris to 5 ½ hours. The line will be 45 km long, including 8 km of tunnel under the Perthus pass and will have mixed traffic of high-speed and freight trains.
SYSTRA, in partnership with TYPSA, will provide technical assistance to the concessionnaire, covering the supervision of designs, project management, a review and expertise in the fields of rail equipment, operation, civil engineering on the French side and assessment and expertise on safety plans.
Blueprint For Railway Infrastructure in Ile-de-France, France
Design of a methodology model to assess the RFF infrastructure in Ile-de-France (rail network and buildings not used for the operation of transport services), along with testing this methodology on the pilot site of Saint-Ouen Docks, 2005-2006.
Peri-Urban Tramway in France
Advice and technical expertise to SNCF as part of a unified approach involving French regions to define new rolling stock of peri-urban tramway type, 2005-2006.

South-East High-Speed Line, France
Expertise in the TAC 300 project (improvements to the catenary at 300 kph) aimed at adapting the south-east high-speed line catenary to cater for increased speeds from 270 kph to 300 kph in certain areas, 2005.
T2 Tramway in Ile-de-France, France
Contract to assess the overall system safety by an EOQA (Certified Approved Expert or Organisation) as part of the extension (2.3 km and three stations) of the T2 tramway to the Porte de Versailles, on-going since 2004.
Eastern High-Speed Line, France
Audits of the project management of the new line between Vaires and Baudrecourt, to comply with the requirements of the safety plan and the technical specifications for European interoperability. Twenty-five audits over three years carried out on six project managers, mainly covering civil engineering and its compatibility with the system, on-going since 2003.

Indian Railways
Between 2004 and 2005, optimisation of maintenance productivity and training for personnel at Mumbai Railway Vikas Co. Ltd (MRVC), in order to improve catenary, to increase its reliability and reduce maintenance.
Rhine-Rhone High-Speed Line, France
Expert analysis of detailed design costs for the first phase of the eastern branch of the Rhine-Rhone high-speed line, 2004-2005.

Restructuring of Bulgarian Railways
Between 2003 and 2005, assistance with restructuring of rail transport to improve the management system for the sector.
Korean High-Speed Line
Between 2003 and 2005, conducting a technical audit of the process of testing and delivery for the Seoul-Pusan high-speed line, on behalf of Korea High Speed Rail Construction Authority (KHRC), before operation of the line was assigned to Korean National Railroad (KNR).
Madrid – Lerida – Barcelona High-Speed Line (Spain)
This new 600km line, which is partially in operation, was originally designed for speeds of up to 350 kph using the ETCS level 2 signalling system and the GSM-R transmission system. The Spanish network operator, ADIF, appointed SYSTRA to conduct an audit of the whole project with two aims : to find out why the existing Madrid-Lerida line is currently operating at below its planned capacity, and to make recommendations for the construction and planning of the Lerida-Barcelona line, which is still undergoing construction, in order to ensure the long-term performance of the line.
Tram-Train Reference Document, France
Preparing a reference document to enable rail networks to carry tram-trains. The aim was to gather and validate data on a number of design standards and maintenance principles for use on future tram-train lines on the French network, 2003-2004.
Mexico MRT
In 2003, carrying out a functional diagnostic of lines 1, 2 and 3, in order to define a programme for the modernisation of the lines and set priorities for action.
